As most of us know, effective fueling and hydration are key elements to any training plan. During the hot summer months and/or exercise lasting longer than 1 hour, refueling is especially important. Last summer during my marathon training, I went to a seminar presented by professional triathlete, Margie Shapiro of Potomac River Running.
