How to Make Almond Milk
(recipe courtesy of EatingCleanrecipes.com)
Place 1/2 Cup of high quality fresh raw almonds in cold water and place in refrigerator for 8 hours/overnight.
Drain and rinse soaked almonds. Place the almonds and 2 cups of fresh cold water into a high speed blender (such as a Vita-Mix). Strain the milk to separate the almond milk for the solids (you can use a fine mesh strainer or a cheesecloth lined colander). Add a few drops of vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt. Place in airtight container and store in fridge. Stays fresh for 2-3 days. Shake well/stir before using as almond milk will separate upon standing.
Makes about 2 Cups of almond milk.
