Not only is it 11-11-11, it’s Veterans Day. A day to take a moment to honor those who have served our great nation. Some of my closest family members are veterans- my Uncle Harold (U.S. Navy), my grandfather Hilton U.S. Army and WWII veteran), my father (U.S. Army), and my father-in-law ( U.S. Air Force). These men all risked their lives to protect and defend our country and our freedom. I am extremely grateful for their service, and remain thankful today and everyday for being an American. There are many people in the world who do not have the freedoms and rights that we do. I am a woman who has the right to choose my religion, the right to vote, and the right to free speech. If I want to get in my car and drive somewhere, I can. If I want to go by a new outfit or new running clothes, I can. If I want to work, and have a career, I can. There are many women in the world who unfortunately, do not have these freedoms.
To all of our veterans- today, and every day, THANK YOU for your service.
