My blog just got a complete makeover, and I hope you will like it as much as I do! Since I haven’t posted in a while, I thought it was time for a fresh new look. Let me know what you think! 🙂
The first half of this year, I took some time off from training, and spent most of my time staying busy with my kids and trying to keep up with their school work/sports/projects/etc.. Just being a stay-at-home mom is a full-time job! Sometimes, I just don’t know how I used to work, and keep up with everything else! Being a mom= Superhero (in my book)!!
However, even Superheros need to keep their sanity. Running is what keeps my sanity in check! After a couple of much needed vacations (to Vegas with my husband in May, and family trip to Florida in June), it was that time of year again.. The start of fall marathon training! Back in March, I entered my name in the lottery for an entry into Marine Corps Marathon. With many prayers, (and a little luck), my name was chosen! I ran my first MCM in 2009, and am so very excited to do it again in a few months. I’m now halfway through my training, and even logged my first 20 miler of the training cycle last weekend. More to come on how my training is going….
You may have noticed a pink and black badge on the right side of my blog. In case you don’t already know about the #Sweat Pink community, you really should! I love being an ambassador, and have been inspired by so many of my fellow #Sweat Pink sisters!!
Recently, an opportunity came along that I am really excited to announce. I am going to be a part of The Active Times Content Network! In case you haven’t heard of The Active Times, check them out! Here’s a screenshot of what you’ll find on their website:
The Active Times is all about running, racing, biking, hiking/climbing, water sports, fitness, travel, and adventure. Basically, you’ll find a wealth of information all packed into one website. The “Run & Race” section is my personal favorite! Click on the orange header on the upper right corner of my blog to see top stories happening at The Active Times. You can also click on the “home” tab of the banner to access their home page!
9 more weeks until Marine Corps Marathon! Yesterday was 16 miles for me. 48 miles total for the week. One more week until the kids head back to school, and I get to head back to my gym for pilates and spinning! Yeah for cross training!
Which fall races/marathons do you have planned? When do your kids go back to school?
